The following ETN Members are part of the SGT-A35 User Group Steering Committee:

The objectives of the User Group are to:

  • Provide a continuous and focused dialog between the user community, OEM and ISPs to define and develop solutions to prioritised operational issues/requirements;
  • Identify more generic issues that can be brought to the ETN’s Technical Committees to explore potential solutions together with leading experts from the R&D community;
  • Explore opportunities to reduce issues through the development of standardisation of gas turbine packages. ETN has already two ongoing successful projects in this field related to exhaust systems and air filtration.

After the meeting, the Steering Committee of the Industrial RB211 User Group will evaluate the proposed solutions and initiate a follow-up process with close discussions with the OEM, the R&D community and ISPs to identify the best way forward to address and overcome the issues as well as to fulfil the user community’s future needs.

Various types of collaboration schemes could be sought depending on the type of issues, such as R&D projects, feasibility studies, as well as development of best practice guidelines or standards.

User Group functioning

1. How can I access the ETN User Groups' web pages?

You can access the ETN User Groups’ webpages via the ETN Index Wheel. This provides direct links to each existing ETN user group and a direct link to the User Groups’ landing page. From the landing page, a left-hand side menu will guide you to specific user groups, where you can explore objectives, methodologies, and organizations involved.

2. What information is available on an individual User Group's webpage?

On an individual User Group’s webpage, you’ll find:

  • A short description of the user group and the models considered.
  • Information on the ETN organizations and steering committee members.
  • Various tabs containing essential information, such as objectives, documentation, upcoming and past events, and contact details of the steering committee members.

3. What is the purpose of the 'Documentation' tab on the User Groups' webpage?

The ‘Documentation’ tab is divided into two sections:

  • User’s Topic of Interest Database: This contains previously reported reliability issues by the steering committees.
  • Users Engine Database: This is useful for checking the models owned by other steering committee members. It also includes technical presentations from past events, which may be referenced in the reported issues.

4. Who can access the 'Database' tool, 'Technical Presentations' and 'Members' tab?

These resources are accessible exclusively to ETN Global members who are part of the specific User Group’s Steering Committee.

Additionally, the identity of anyone reporting an issue in the database remains confidential.

End-User Topic of Interest database

5. What is the User Groups' Topics of Interest Database?

The Topics of Interest Database is a tool used by user groups to coordinate and track reported issues. Issues are categorized based on their impact on operations:

  • Category 1: High-impact events that must be addressed in yearly in-person meetings.
  • Category 2: Lower impact events.
  • Category 3: Situations with low financial consequences but could cause operational issues.

6. How can I filter and search within the Topics of Interest Database?

You can filter the database by status, category, system, or component name. There’s also a search tool that allows keyword filtering, making it easier to locate specific issues.

7. How do I add a new issue to the Topics of Interest Database?

Before adding a new issue, check if it has been previously reported by using filters or keyword search. If the issue is new, click “Add a New Topic,” fill in the relevant details (e.g., system component name, defect description, RCA status), and add any comments. If the issue has already been reported but is still unresolved, you may reopen it and add additional information.

8. What should I do if I need to update information for a previously reported issue?

Any member of the steering committee can update an issue by clicking “Edit.” You can add comments, new information, or clarify why an issue has been reopened. Always start comments with the date followed by the update.

9. How can I download the Topics of Interest Database?

You can download the entire database as an Excel file, allowing you to analyse and manage the data offline.

10. Can I add data or information to a reported issue even if I did not report it myself?

Yes, you can add data to an issue even if you didn’t originally report it. Any member of the steering committee has the ability to update or contribute additional information to existing issues in the database. This includes adding new details, clarifying existing data, or leaving comments to provide further insights.

When adding a comment or updating an issue, it’s important to:

  • Click on the “Edit” button for the issue.
  • Enter the new information in the relevant fields.
  • If leaving a comment, start with the date followed by your update to ensure that the latest information is clearly tracked.

This collaborative approach helps keep the database comprehensive and up-to-date, benefiting all members involved in the user groups.

11. How many members of my organisation can access the database?

Access to the database is granted to members of the Steering Committee. There is no limit on the number of members from your organization who can be granted access. Your organization’s point of contact has the authority to name as many team members as needed to ensure proper oversight and management of operation and maintenance issues.

It is encouraged that all relevant team members responsible for these areas are included in the Steering Committee to help effectively track and address your organization’s reliability issues. Additionally, the “Display My Organization Topics” button in the database allows you to view all reliability issues reported by your organization’s members, facilitating better tracking and management within your organisation.
