The ETN Global’s emissions correction for hydrogen task force published a Position Paper in March 2023 titled “Proposed NOx emissions reporting for hydrogen-containing fuels”. The background for the paper is the current normalisation method that is being used for correcting emissions, particularly nitrogen oxides, to reference conditions, which adds a burden of up to 40% on hydrogen compared to natural gas. In the paper, the task force proposes an alternative method.
This paper was authored by the following members (in alphabetical order): Dave Abbott (Cranfield University & Uniper), Rob Bastiaans (Eindhoven University of Technology), Martyn Boden (E.ON), Adnan Eroglu (Siemens Energy), David Graham (Uniper), Felix Güthe (Phoenix BioPower), Andreas Huber (DLR), Bobby Noble (EPRI), Jon Runyon (Uniper), Tobias Sieker (RWTH Aachen University); and supported by the ETN Global’s secretariat.
Please find the Position paper here.
