On 21 November 2025, at MEGAWATT 2025 event , ETN Global’s Managing Director, Christer Björkqvist, delivered a powerful keynote on Driving a Net-Zero Energy Future. His message was clear: the energy transition is accelerating, and the turbomachinery community must take decisive steps to secure an affordable, reliable net-zero system.
Christer highlighted the sector’s growing “positive pain” as demand rises and supply tightens. To position turbomachinery as a cornerstone of tomorrow’s energy mix, he urged bold investment to relieve supply bottlenecks and stronger collaboration to fast-track efficient, flexible, carbon-free solutions. Crucially, he encouraged users to take the “front seat” as co-pilots in guiding OEMs, suppliers, and researchers.
With electrification surging and ageing fleets retiring, the need for dispatchable power has never been more urgent. Turbomachinery will remain essential, not only through the transition, but in a fully net-zero society.
