On 20 January 2025, Christer Björkqvist, Managing Director of ETN Global, participated in the Seville Forum on Machinery for Decarbonization (SFMD). This prestigious event brought together experts from industry, government, and academia to explore innovative, carbon-neutral solutions for energy production and storage.
During his presentation, titled “The Critical role of turbomachinery for a successful energy transition,” Björkqvist leaned onto the key findings from our recent white paper emphasising the indispensable role of turbomachinery in achieving a sustainable energy future. He discussed the growing global demand for dispatchable energy and highlighted the need for flexible, scalable, and clean solutions. The white paper, submitted to policymakers, advocates for enabling policy frameworks that support the deployment of such solutions, particularly low-carbon turbomachinery. During the presentation he also fossed on the fact that to bridge existing technological gaps, we, at ETN Global, actively drive industry-led and EU-funded projects while fostering collaboration through our dedicated working groups. These initiatives focus on accelerating technology development, facilitating knowledge exchange, and guiding R&D efforts toward a secure and sustainable energy transition.
We are grateful for the invitation and opportunity to be part of the Seville Forum on Machinery for Decarbonization (SFMD), which served as a vital platform for open dialogue, facilitating collaborations aimed at driving the next generation of low-carbon technologies.
