Annual General Meeting and Workshop 2025

Energy & Turbomachinery Network’s (ETN) 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Workshop will take place on 25-27 March 2025 at Grand Bergen Conference Center in Bergen, Norway, co-hosted by our member Equinor.

The AGM and Workshop is a dynamic 2.5-day event that unites representatives from across our entire community. Participants include users, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, research institutes, and universities. The event offers invaluable opportunities to explore the latest technological developments, understand evolving user needs, connect with leading experts, foster partnerships, and uncover new business opportunities.

In addition to amazing site visits organised by our co-host Equinor to Northern Lights project and Technology Center Mongstad, sharing updates on ETN Global’s annual activities and plans for 2025, the AGM and Workshop will feature meaningful discussions as well as interactive sessions that will help shape the future of our industry. Join us to engage, collaborate, and drive innovation in the energy & turbomachinery sector.

The Northern Lights project

The Northern Lights (NL) project is the world’s first to commercialize CO2 transport and storage as a service and the onshore site is located 50 km NV of Bergen. The aim is to help industry stop CO2 emissions and to provide a safe and permanent storage option for the gas in the subsurface of the Norwegian Continental shelf.

The NL is funded by the government of Norway and jointly operated by Equinor, Total Energies and Shall in a JV. The receiving terminal was completed in Q4, 2024 and the first batch of CO2 from the Brevik Cement plant is expected in 2025.

Visit the project website for more information: Northern Lights project.

Technology Centre Mongstad (TCM)

TCM is the world’s largest post-combustion CO2 capture test center, driving a competitive carbon capture market. It provides facilities for final-stage technology testing before commercialisation, supports developers, shares knowledge, and offers advisory services.

Key features:

  • Industrial environment: Two flue gas sources (1–20% CO2), 24/7 operations, 18,000 tons CO2/year capacity, and parallel technology testing.
  • Analytical & laboratory capabilities: Sophisticated analytical methods and a state-of-the-art laboratory.
  • Technology readiness level: Starting at TRL 3+, modular technologies are de-risked before full-scale deployment.
