The third episode of the ROBINSON H2020 webinar series is out!

ROBINSON H2020 Consortium is pleased to invite you to the third episode of its new webinar series. During these virtual events, participants will familiarise with environmental, socio-economic, and technical topics related to the project.

Our episode on “ROBINSON replicability and business models” will take place on Wednesday, 8 May from 15.00 to 16.00 (CET).

This time, our Consortium is offering you a webinar on ROBINSON replicability and business models for energy communities. Presenters of the webinar include:
  • Nikolaos Savvakis (Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Technical University of Crete). Nikolaos will give a presentation on the replicability in the ROBINSON project and the systematic approach taken to validate and support replicating the solutions in Follower and other islands. His presentation will outline key steps such as the local context definition, technology transfer, and business model identification crucial for successful replication. Attendees will gain insights into challenges, opportunities, and innovative tools like ROBINSON Evidence Base and Replication Roadmap for effective replication planning and execution.
  • Dimitra Pli (Project & Innovation Manager at Stratagem). Dimitra will present business models for energy communities, which were investigated and selected during the course of our project. Specific Business Models Canvases (BMC) for our demonstration island (Eigerøy, Norway) and follower islands (Crete, Greece and Western Isles, Scotland) were developed, with the aim of creating value at the local level through the integration of renewable energy sources, energy-efficient technologies, and smart grid infrastructure.

About ROBINSON project

ROBINSON’s main mission is to develop an integrated energy system to help decarbonise islands with industrial activities. The system, which will be demonstrated on the island of Eigerøy, Norway, couples locally available energy sources, electrical and thermal networks and innovative storage technologies, using hydrogen as energy carrier. In order to achieve the target, innovative technologies will be developed, integrated on the island and managed by a novel Energy Management System (EMS) that will include non-electrical resources such as biomass gasification, wastewater valorisation and industrial symbiosis. More information on ROBINSON is available on the project website.

The ROBINSON project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 957752
