ETN CCS Webinar Series – Episode 4 on “Advanced CO₂ Compression Technologies for CCUS: Driving Decarbonisation and Energy Efficiency”

The ETN CCUS Working Group is pleased to invite you to the fourth episode of its CCS webinar series, entitled “Advanced CO₂ Compression Technologies for CCUS: Driving Decarbonisation and Energy Efficiency”. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 18 June from 15:00 to 16:00 (CET).

During the upcoming webinar, the relevant technological solutions developed by MAN Energy Solutions (an active ETN Member) will be presented in detail.

Abstracts

The transition to a net-zero future demands innovative solutions for carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). MAN Energy Solutions is at the forefront of this transformation with cutting-edge compressor technologies tailored for CO₂ compression and transport. This presentation will delve into the technical advantages of MAN integrally geared compressors, which offer superior efficiency, modularity, and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional inline designs. Key topics include:

  • The role of high-efficiency compression in reducing the energy footprint of CCUS, as well as its impact on the integration and complete value chain,
  • Modularisation benefits, including faster deployment and risk mitigation,
  • Real-world applications, such as the Shell Quest and Northern Lights projects, demonstrating scalability and reliability, and
  • Heat recovery solutions that enhance energy efficiency and integrate seamlessly with industrial processes

With CCUS poised to abate 1–2 Gt of CO₂ annually by 2050, this session will highlight how MAN technologies address critical challenges in hard-to-abate sectors.

Join us to explore how these advancements can accelerate decarbonisation goals while optimising operational performance.

Presenter

The presentation of the webinar will be delivered by Jeroen Michiels from Man Energy Solutions.
