The fourth episode of the ROBINSON H2020 webinar series is out!

ROBINSON H2020 Consortium is pleased to invite you to the fourth episode of its webinar series. During these virtual events, participants will familiarise with environmental, socio-economic, and technical topics related to the project.

Our episode on “The ROBINSON Energy Management System” will take place on Wednesday, 11 September from 15.00 to 16.00 (CET).

In the ROBINSON concept, an optimised intelligent Energy Management System (EMS) with advanced control system will play a key role in ensuring the grid stability, power balance and security of supply. But how is this system being developed in our project?

In our upcoming webinar, we will explore the simulation and integration activities related to the EMS carried out by our Consortium. Project Partner UNIGE (University of Genoa) lead the efforts in the EMS simulation in our demonstration island (Eigerøy, Norway) and follower islands (Western Isles, in Scotland and Crete, in Greece). During the virtual event, participants will familiarise with the scope of the work, its results, and challenges encountered by our project partners.

Presenters of the webinar will include:

  • Mario Luigi Ferrari, Associate Professor at University of Genoa and Work Package Leader for EMS simulation and integration activities
  • Simone Maccarini, Post-Doctoral Researcher at University of Genoa

About ROBINSON project

ROBINSON’s main mission is to develop an integrated energy system to help decarbonise islands with industrial activities. The system, which will be demonstrated on the island of Eigerøy, Norway, couples locally available energy sources, electrical and thermal networks and innovative storage technologies, using hydrogen as energy carrier. In order to achieve the target, innovative technologies will be developed, integrated on the island and managed by a novel Energy Management System (EMS) that will include non-electrical resources such as biomass gasification, wastewater valorisation and industrial symbiosis. More information on ROBINSON is available on the project website.

The ROBINSON project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 957752
