Best Practice Award

One of the benefits provided by a network like ETN is the opportunity for members to improve their expertise through interaction with other peers. By sharing practices that have proven to be applicable and by comparing those to the activities of other peers often allow both sides to distinguish potential for improvement. In order to facilitate and moderate this learning process, ETN decided to set up the Best Practice Award, open to both ETN and non-ETN members operating or supporting gas turbine operations.

Topics

Topics for submission for ETN’s Best Practice Award 2017-2018 were:

  • Workforce development/knowledge management
  • EHS: Environment, Health and Safety

Winners 2018

A panel of judges with asset management experience was selected for formal recognition. The Best Practices they believed to offer the greatest benefit to the industry were selected and given an award during ETN’s Annual General Meeting & Workshop on 14-15 March 2018 in Bucharest, Romania.

The Best Practice Award prize in the “Workforce Development/Knowledge Management” category was given to ExxonMobil for their multi-step approach for improving engine performance fleet-wide. The winner of the “Environment, Health and Safety” category was GE, who received the prize for their sound approach for ensuring safety site-wide.

Introduction of all submitted entries and more information about the award ceremony is available for ETN members on the AGM & Workshop page (accessing presentations requires login).

Supported by CCJ

COMBINED CYCLE Journal’s Best Practices Awards to gas turbine based power facilities, established in 2005, has expanded from its North American roots to the rest of the globe.

The programme, endorsed by major industry user groups, recognises ideas implemented by plant personnel to increase reliability/availability, improve efficiency, reduce emissions, minimise accidents, etc. Such performance improvements are important to every owner and its management team.

To date, over 200 power and process facilities have participated in this valuable form of information exchange with colleagues and even more have benefited from programmes like the Best Practice Award throughout the industry.
